Thanks to local merchants, residents, community partners and volunteers, this Saturday's Holiday Celebration was a GREAT EVENT!
Deckin' the Halls...Egleston Style!

Last week was a flurry of activity (and not snow, thankfully!), as Egleston Square residents and merchants worked to put the finishing touches on the decorations in the district.

Over THIRTY businesses participated in the Egleston Square Window Decorating Competition!!!  Rosana Rivera of Latino Beauty Salon, started decorating on November 2nd, in order to "encourage the other merchants to decorate too!"  And they did!

Latino Salon with Matt O'Malley Celebrity JudgeCelebrity judges, Christina Rios, from Teen Empowerment, Councilor Matt O'Malley and Tito Jackson, and Representative Liz Malia, visited each business and selected three fantastic finalists:

    **VIP Lounge Salon**

  **Moreno's Unisex Salon**

 **and Latino Beauty Salon**

Here, Councilor O'Malley checks out the miniature Egleston Square in the window of Latino Beauty Salon!  Officer Martinez helps child decorate tree

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree!

With all the decorations in place, the party began!

Officer Carlos Martinez and many other volunteers helped local children decorate the Christmas tree with unique, homemade ornaments!

Then, enthustiastic carolers from St. Mary of the Angels led the large crowd in singing in English and Spanish!
