Ryan Going, P.Eng, Project Manager, Pomerleau (YCL Executive Committee Member)
Ryan Going, P.Eng. is a construction manager with experience delivering large-scale buildings and civil projects across industrial, institutional, commercial and healthcare markets in Canada and the UK.
As a project manager with Pomerleau, Ryan is currently managing the delivery of the Academic Wood Tower for the University of Toronto, which at 14 storeys and 76m is the tallest wood structure under construction in Canada. Ryan is also a founding member of Pomerleau's National Wellbeing Committee which focuses on improving mental health supports for Pomerleau's 4000+ employees across the country. Ryan is a member of the Toronto Construction Association's Young Construction Leaders (YCL) Executive committee.
Ryan was named as one of Canada’s top 40 under 40 construction professionals in 2023 by OnSite magazine.

Francis Pomerleau is the Director of Pomerleau’s Board of Directors and is the company’s former Chief Executive - National Strategies. In his previous role, he led the national business development, government relations and reputation management strategies to increase awareness of Pomerleau's value proposition in all our communities. As Director of the Board, Francis will continue to oversee the strategies he implemented.
He began his career at Pomerleau in 1991 as a project engineer and, together with his brother Pierre, was entrusted with the management of the company in 1997. Endowed with natural leadership, and more than 30 years of experience within the organization, Francis has developed a deep understanding of the construction industry, the company's pan-Canadian operations and the people who are a part of it. He passionately shares the family values of the company and promotes the Pomerleau culture from coast to coast.
Francis holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Polytechnique Montréal and in 2000, he obtained a Master's in Business Administration from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Craig Applegath is a Partner Architect at Dialog.
Craig Applegath is an architect, urban designer and biologist practicing at the intersection of the built environment and natural ecosystems.
Craig plans and designs buildings, campuses, and communities that are zero-carbon, climate adaptive, and regenerative, and is an international expert on climate mitigation and adaptation through sustainable and resilient design strategies. Craig’s recent work integrates mass timber in the design of sustainable college and universities, and affordable modular housing.
Craig’s commitment to the potential of mass timber has led him to Chair the Mass Timber Institute (MTI) based at the University of Toronto, and co-hosts MTI’s Mass Timber Today podcast.
Craig is the Founding Partner of DIALOG’s Toronto studio, a North American integrated-design firm. Craig earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Toronto (UofT), a Bachelor of Architecture from Dalhousie University, and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. Ongoing university teaching work includes a Climate Change Adaptation Seminar at the UofT’s Daniels Faculty of Architecture.
Craig speaks internationally about his research and design explorations. Recent conferences and workshops include the AIA 2022 National Conference, the 2022 Mass TImber Conference in Portland, and the Council for Tall Building and Urban Habitat Hybrid Conference in 2022, where the focus has been on DIALOG’s design for a patent-pending Hybrid Timber Floor System incorporated into a zero-carbon Hybrid Wood Tower prototype (awarded Fast Company’s 2021 World Changing Idea in the architecture category).
In all his work, Craig is driven by a passion for design that addresses the challenges of climate change and its environmental impacts.

Compton Cho is the Vice President of Design, Preconstruction, and Estimating at SmartCentres REIT, where he brings over 35 years of engaging experience in the construction industry. As a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS), Gold Seal Certified professional, and LEED® Accredited Professional, Compton's expertise encompasses a blend of technical proficiency and sustainable development principles.
Compton holds diplomas in Civil Engineering and Business Administration from Ryerson University, where he continues to contribute to the academic community as an industry advisor and mentor. He has served on various committees, including the Toronto Construction Association (TCA) as a member of the TCIC National Student Bid Competition since 2012 and recipient of the (TCA) Chancellors' Award of Excellence in 2015.
Throughout his career, Compton has demonstrated leadership and commitment, serving on advisory boards for educational institutions such as George Brown College and as a Dean's Advisor for the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science at Ryerson University.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Compton is passionate about mentoring future industry leaders and advocating for practical sustainability approaches. In his personal time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, golfing, and snowboarding, as well as seeking warmer climates during the winter months. Compton Cho's dedication to excellence, both professionally and personally, reflects his commitment to advancing the construction industry and fostering sustainable practices for future generations.

Refund requests that are made the same day of purchase will be refunded in full.
Refund requests that are made the day after purchase and are over 30 days prior to the event will incur a 10% admin fee up to a maximum amount of $75.
Refund requests made within 30 days of an event are 100% non-refundable.
If for whatever reason, we (TCA) cancel’s an event, ticket purchases will be refunded in full.
