Celebrating Our Graduating Seniors
Message from Josh McDonald, 2b Youth Minister
As the school year ends, we celebrate our graduating seniors. It has been a privilege to watch them grow in faith and contribute to our 2b Youth and church community. Here are a few words about each of them:
Katie Robbins
Daughter of Felix and Aurelia Conde, graduating from Frenship High School, plans to attend South Plains. A musician, songwriter, and composer, she introduced me to the Arctic Monkeys. Katie has brought many friends to 2b Youth, teaching them about Jesus. The word for Katie is strong.
Carter Lyles
Son of Tim and Lindy Lyles, graduating from Central High School in San Angelo, Texas, plans to study sports media at Texas Tech. Carter quickly immersed himself in 2b Youth, showing spiritual maturity beyond his years. The word for Carter is joyful.
Kip Mankowski
Daughter of Amanda Mankowski, homeschooled. Kip is quiet and thoughtful. As a 2b Leaders counselor, she helped fringe kids feel safe and included. Kip brings calmness to the room. The word for Kip is gentle.
Quin Shelton
Texas Tech graduate in music education and vocal performance. Quin is a choral scholar and Youth and Children’s Ministry volunteer at Second B. She asked to serve in youth after last year’s 2b Youth Senior Celebration, helping many kids participate. The words for Quin are empathetic and caring.
We are incredibly proud of these seniors and excited to see where their journeys take them next. Please join us in praying for their continued growth and success.

2b Kids Food Drive: Help End Childhood Hunger in the South Plains
One in three children on the South Plains goes to bed hungry. Last year, over 50,000 children were fed through the South Plains Food Bank’s Summer Feeding Program. Summer school closures mean many children have less access to food, and our 2b Kids are determined to help. We’re collecting donations until the end of May.
We need plastic jars of peanut butter, breakfast and snack bars, individual cereal boxes, Pop Tarts, fruit cups and pouches, trail mix, tuna cans and packs, cheese crackers, pudding and Jell-O cups, and individual chip bags.

Memorial Day Service
Second Baptist Church is honored to partner once again with The Friends of the Monuments, VFW Post 2466, and The Military Order of the Purple Heart - Chapter 0900, for their annual Memorial Day Service. This event will take place at Second Baptist Church on Sunday, May 26th at 6:30 PM. We warmly invite the public to join us to pay tribute to our fallen heroes and honor the local and regional Gold Star families.
