2017 Volunteer Awards
Thank you to everyone who came to the Fickett Center on March 25 to honor our council's 2017 Silver Beaver Award recipients: Heather Ball, Judith Carroll, John Culpepper, Rosalie Galliver, Jim Graves, Toni Malone, Dave Read, Dr. Richard Rhodes, Liz Shelby, Gene Shepherd, Eric Swenson, Rich Wahl and Sam West. The history Col. Te Starr shared and the history in the room was inspiring.
Through the generous donations of Tonkawa Lodge, council supporters, sponsors and previous Silver Beavers, the 2017 Silver Beaver committee is pleased to be able to provide to the Fickett Center a handicap ramp, hand rails and 2 sets of steps. Having these accommodations on site will allow many groups and programs more opportunities. It is the hope of the committee that these gifts will, as Barry Bales stated in the recommitment pledge, "... help strengthen the Scouting program... for the benefit of the youth, our communities, our state, and our nation."
Put March 24, 2018, on your calendar now for next year's stellar event as we look forward to honoring more outstanding adult leaders from our council. To nominate someone for the Silver Beaver Class of 2018, please
