Recruiting is crucial to a healthy Scouting program...

• 20 Scouts allow for multiple dens and patrols

• More dens keep activities age-appropriate

• More patrols permit additional leadership opportunities

• Larger units have a bigger recruiting pool for leaders

• Every unit is encouraged to establish the goal of achieving and maintaining 20 Scouts.

Highlights of Successful Recruiting...

☐   Fall Recruiting ($5 Youth Fee increase paid by Council!) MUST Use discount code kid5.

To compliment the great activities and campouts planned by the Pack, Troop, or Crew, the Indian Waters Council has several Council and District opportunities for training, advancement, and FUN scheduled throughout the year. Safety comes first with Scouting! It is everyone's responsibility to make sure our Scouts and leaders stay safe at meetings and outings. Wood Badge Coming - Spring 2025


Wood Badge is for all registered adult volunteers in Scouting who have completed the basic training for their position, most of which can be taken online through my.scouting.org.


Registration is limited to 48 participants. Make sure you register early to ensure your spot is secure!

IOLS @ Camp Barstow, Nov. 1-3, 24


Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills is a hands-on course that introduces adult leaders to the practical outdoor skills needed to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. This is a required training for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters to be considered "trained", a necessary component to registering for Wood Badge.

BALOO & IOLS AT THE BEACH


IOLS and BALOO trainings will both be offered at Myrtle Beach State Park October 25-27, 2024.


IOLS is a required course for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters. BALOO is a training required for Cub Scout Packs to host unit camping activities. Join us at the Beach to learn how to best serve the Scouts of your unit.

The purpose of the College of Commissioner Science is to provide supplemental training for all functions in the council and district related to commissioner service. It is recognized that commissioners are key to the continued health and growth of the units in the council. The College of Commissioner Science will provide the supplemental training to aid the commissioners in providing outstanding unit service.

Cope and Climbing Training


This course has you working on the basics to be able to help one of the council's Climbing/COPE Directors run the Climbing tower and/or COPE course during events. Knots, belaying, climbing, and just hanging around are what's in store for this weekend course.
