Volunteer Spotlight

PRACHETA S SALUNKHE


Pracheta S Salunkhe is a Ph.D. research scholar in the subject of Life Sciences from the University of Mumbai specializing in Plant biotechnology, Plant biochemistry, Nanobiotechnology, and Bioanalytical Sciences. She came to know about Sci-ROI in 2020-21 during the pandemic when she attended one of its webinars related to her specialization and was amazed by the initiatives taken and the role Sci-ROI is playing in creating awareness about opportunities in STEM (India) and aiding in "Reverse Brain Drain". As Sci- ROI volunteer she wants to learn and contribute to various aspects of using a global platform for networking with researchers along with understanding and sharing emerging opportunities since the implementation of NEP 2020.

SUVADIP DAS

Suvadip is a motivated researcher, science enthusiast, and analytical thinker with a keen interest in scientific modeling and statistical analysis of 2D quantum materials and the development of quantum algorithms. As a volunteer at Sci-ROI, he strives to actively involve in the transition of fellow researchers to Indian academia, alongside communication of the important role played by high-performance clusters and quantum computing in shaping our future.

KAMAL MALHOTRA


Kamal Malhotra is a Postdoctoral fellow at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. She obtained her Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar and has been working on developing biomaterials for several biomedical applications. Her area of interest lies in self-assembled peptide gels and hydrogels, tissue engineering, and targeted drug delivery. She joined Sci-ROI recently with an aim to help the science community. She was inspired by the vision of the organization to provide a gateway for young professionals working abroad to explore different academic and non-academic opportunities in India and helped them to find a path back home by conducting annual events, meetings, websites for career portals, and blogs. She looks forward to working with the Sci-ROI team in enhancing outreach activities, blog writing, and conducting various podcasts.
