WEEK OF JULY 31, 2024

As we approach the start of the school year, we hope that your summer has been filled with fun and memorable opportunities. Getting back into the classroom routine can be exciting, but also challenging as both staff and students work to reacclimate. We at the Kane County Regional Office of Education (ROE) know there will be much to celebrate and highlight as the year progresses.

Kane County ROE staff shared data with Kane County Board earlier this month regarding the volume of families and educational staff we were able to serve in Fiscal Year 2024. During that time, we were able to:

  • train 1,977 bus drivers
  • fingerprint 4,358 guests
  • complete 2,642 school or home visits as part of our youth outreach services
  • register 3,805 new licenses

We are grateful for the opportunity to work with all of you in these capacities and more. We look forward to seeing what you and your students accomplish as well as continuing to be your partner in education this school year.

Patricia Dal Santo, Regional Superintendent

Welcome our new Instructional Coaches

We are excited to share two new additions to our team! Please join us in welcoming Elsa Glover and Faye Licari, who have joined our Professional Learning team as Instructional Coaches. They will be vital in enhancing the professional development opportunities we can provide to districts we serve, and they will work directly with teachers to improve instructional methods, integrate technology, and implement effective teaching strategies that enhance student learning outcomes.

They also happen to both be past nominees for our Educator of the Year banquet! We hope you have the chance to connect with Elsa and Faye soon, and we are excited to have them with the Kane County ROE.

Summer learning at the Juvenile Justice Center

Recently, colleagues from Champaign-Ford Regional Office of Education #9 joined Dr. Deanna Oliver, Assistant Regional Superintendent, for a tour of summer classes at the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center.

The JJC staff graciously provided glimpse into how educational opportunities are structured at the facility and ways in which teachers are providing elective opportunities for students. We thank them for the hospitality and the opportunity to share with fellow educational service center members.
