Let the Summer Begin
From our President:
Stamford Cradle to Career would like to wish the entire community a happy start to summer. Families, this is great opportunity to launch your summer reading routine. We are so excited to partner with the Ferguson Library to present the Stamford Summer Literacy Initiative. This is a FREE program that provides reading support and a literacy-rich environment within selected Stamford summer camps. We’re also working with Ferguson Library to promote the Summer Learning Club. The library will be hosting three kick-off event at the main library, South End, and at the Harry Bennet branches.

We are also providing School Culture and Restorative Practice Webinar the week of June 27th. This mind-shifting workshop is available to anyone interested in created better schools for the students of Stamford. This offering is available at no-cost and allows adults to build social emotional tools to best engage students. Please register her for this exciting learning opportunity.

In partnership with Stamford Stands Against Racism, we are hosting the first of a three-part series on the recently passed police accountability bill. This forum will provide an opportunity to discuss what the Police Accountability Bill is and why it is important to learn more about. The forum will take place at UCONN Stamford on June 25th from 10am- noon.
Lastly, we would like to take the time to thank all the hardworking teachers, administrators, para educators, and entire school teams for nurturing our students this school year. It was unprecedented in so many ways, but you all kept showing up to illuminate the minds of our youngsters. Please remember to take the time for self-care and reflection. As my favorite childhood author Judy Blume once said, “Our fingerprints don’t fade from the lives we touch”

Best,
Edith Presley
