Summer might be coming to an end, but the excitement is just beginning! Get ready to celebrate the start of a new school year with our Back-to-School Picnic, hosted by the 7th-grade students and their families. 


Date: Friday, August 9, 2023 (Rain Date: Friday, August 16)

Time: 6:00-8:00 p.m. 

Location: APS Front Lawn 


Scrumptious Food Truck Feast: Enjoy mouthwatering meals and desserts from Tommy's Pizza, Six Forks Burgers, and Kona Ice


Music: Dance the night away with DJ Josh Brown

 (an amazing donation from APTA !!) 


Fun and Games: Activities for all ages

 

  • Bounce Houses (accessible with wristbands only): one standard bounce house and one obstacle course
  • Face Painting Station (requires 3 tickets) 
  • 3 Game Stations: require about 2-3 tickets per race/game

We are excited to introduce you to APS's new

Athletic Director/After-School Programs Coordinator: Beau Arney


Mr. Arney comes to Anchorage from a brief stint as the Associate Executive Director of the Downtown YMCA of Greater Louisville. Before that, he was the District Athletic Director for the Carroll County School System for 4 years. He and his wife of 25 years, Hillary, are lifelong residents of Carrollton, KY. They have 2 dogs, Annie (corgi) and Riley (catahula). Mr. Arney has coached youth and high school basketball, high school football, and served as a Head HS strength and conditioning head coach.

Purchase Your Annual Sports Pass Now!


The Annual Anchorage Sport Passes are available to purchase on Ticket Spicket. This platform provides an easier process to purchase tickets at Anchorage sporting events and will reduce the volunteer workload at games. Children through 12th grade are admitted free, so you will only need to purchase tickets or a sports pass for adults attending the games. 



Fee: $50 which includes entrance to all home games, field and gym, for one adult during the 2024-2025 school year. **This pass is not eligible for tournaments or post-season events. You will need to display your electronic Adult All Access ticket at each APS home game you attend.

APTA Newcomer Orientation and Social

Sunday, August 4, 5:30 p.m.


Please join us on Sunday, August 4 for our Newcomer Orientation and Social!


This is an adults-only event that allows you to take a tour of the school, meet our administrators, and socialize with other new parents. Tours will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a presentation in the Library following. Join us after for a reception at the home of Harry and Courtenay Wilson at 1408 Walnut Ln.

2024-2025 APS Afterschool Activities Booklet Update



Dear Parents, the 2024-2025 APS afterschool activities booklet will be completed by early next week! We understand the anticipation and appreciate your patience during this time. Our school has been diligently working to ensure the booklet is comprehensive and includes all the exciting opportunities available for students. We appreciate your continued support as we finalize the details. 

Reminder: It is time to register for APSAP Fall Sports!


We will have 5/6 Field Hockey, 7/8 Field Hockey, 5/6 Co-Ed Soccer, 7/8 Co-Ed Soccer, K-5 Cross Country, 6-8 Cross Country, 5/6 Volleyball, 7/8 Volleyball, & Cheerleading.


The final registration deadline for Fall Athletics is August 1, 2024.

Kindergarten and 6th Grade Student Health Records  

 

Kentucky Public School Health Requirements include a Kindergarten and 6th-grade preventative health exam (school physical), along with an up-to-date immunization certificate. These are due at the start of the school year. 

 

Kindergarten and 6th grade physical:  Kentucky Preventative Health Care Examination Form.  Both pages must be signed and dated by the provider within 1 year before entry into Kindergarten and 6th grade. (This is different from a sports physical).

 

Immunizations: Please submit documentation of up-to-date immunizations on a Commonwealth of Kentucky Certificate of Immunization Status form.


Additionally, Kindergarten students require a dental screening (Kentucky Dental Screening Form ) and a vision screening (Kentucky School Eye Exam Form).

Medication for the 2024-2025 School Year

 

Each year, students must have new medication permission forms for medications that are to be used during school. If your child will be needing prescription medication during the 24-25 school year, please these forms signed by your child’s provider.

*Non-prescription medications labeled for use in children require only a parent signature if given occasionally and at recommended age-based doses.  

Forms and Medications in their original bottles may be submitted by parents at the start of the school year.   

 

Planning Ahead for 2024-2025 

 

If your child has a chronic medical condition such as asthma, food allergy, seizure disorder, or diabetes, he or she will need a care plan on file for the 2024 - 2025 school year.

Support your APTA and save time by ordering school supplies through our annual fundraiser held through www.schooltoolbox.comJust a few clicks and your school supplies will be boxed and delivered to your doorstep. All orders can be customized to remove items you do not need.

We'd love to stay in touch with our families and hear about your travels this summer!


We invite all students and staff to submit photos of their educational travels, experiences, or camps (with name, grade, and caption included) over the summer to anchorage.webmaster@anchorage.kyschools.us to be featured on our school's social media.


If you’d like to practice your writing skills, you can also submit a 200-word article about your travels to be published in Stroll Anchorage Magazine. We look forward to staying in touch!
