  1. The 2nd trimester ends today, Thursday, February 29th.
  2. There will be no school tomorrow, Friday, March 1st. It is a Teacher-In-Service day.
  3. Parent Association meeting Monday, March 4th at 6:00 PM in Mayall Hall. All are invited to attend.
  4. There will be an 11:30 AM dismissal for all students on Friday, March 8th. This is a Parent/Teacher conference day. Conferences will be held by Zoom for parents or teachers that request a conference. Please fill out the request and return it by Monday, March 4th.
  5. Hot dog lunch Wednesday, March 13th. Form and money are due by Friday, March 8th.
  6. St. Francis Borgia School will be serving 2 more Lenten meals this season. Meals will be served in the Stokes Center 4:00-7:00 PM. Adults $15, Children $10, Children 3 and under are free. The Lenten dinner on March 8th will feature a fish dinner and the Lenten meal on March 22nd will feature an Italian menu. Come join us. We are also looking for volunteers to help serve. See the attached flyer for more information.
  7. Spring pictures will be held on Wednesday, March 12th. Students do not need to wear their uniforms.  A form is being sent home that needs to be filled out and returned if you want a picture of siblings photographed together. If siblings have their picture taken together, they will not be photographed individually. 
  8. Hot dog lunch on Wednesday, March 13th.
  9. Lenten Confessions for students in grades 3 through 8 on Thursday, March 14th after the 8:30 AM Mass.
  10. Students may be out of uniform and wear green in honor of St. Patrick’s Day on Friday, March 15th.
  11. Join us for our monthly Bingo on Saturday, March 16th. Doors open at 5:30 PM.
  12. The students in Kindergarten through 8th grade will be attending Stations of the Cross Wednesday afternoons at 2:30 PM in the Church until March 20th. These students will be dismissed from the Church at the end of school day. Pre-K will still dismiss from the school. 
  13. The 6th grade will be performing the Living Stations of the Cross on Wednesday, March 27th at the 8:30 AM school Mass. We invite you to join us.
  14. We will be holding our annual Literacy Night on Wednesday, March 27th 6:00-7:15 PM. It is an Olympic themed event where students can earn medals for participating in the different events. The evening is  free and we ask you to join us and bring your family, friends and neighbors. More information will be sent home next week.
  15. The students are participating in 2 different Lenten missions. The school children are participating in Penny Wars and the monies raised from this are going to local charities. The children are also bringing home Rice Bowls as part of the parish Lenten mission. All donations are greatly appreciated. 
  16. Every family received their raffle tickets last week. Please check your child’s Thursday folder. The second half of fundraising is raffle tickets. Each family is obligated to sell 25 tickets which equals $250. A letter of explanation accompanies the tickets.
  17. There was a $250 charge on your FACTS account in the incidentals. It is for the family obligation of 10 hours of volunteer service to the school. All service hour credits have been entered. Please check your account to make sure that it is accurate. 
  18. You will see additional charges added to your FACTS incidental account next week. A registration fee for the next school year of $100, $250 first half of fundraising, and $250 second half of fundraising. Once those charges are added to the account, credits will then be added for those who have met their first half of the fundraising obligation and those who have volunteer hours completed.
  19. Save the Date!! Our Spring Gala will be held this year on Saturday, April 13th. The Gala will be held at Manzo’s Banquets & Catering, 1571 Elmhurst Road, Des Plaines, IL from 6:00-12:00. Tickets are $110 each or a table of 10 for $1000. Dinner, open bar and entertainment are included in the ticket price. All school children of families that attend the gala will have a free dress down pass for every Monday until the end of the school year. Purchase your tickets now at the rectory. Please consider sponsoring or asking a business to sponsor us as we fundraise for our children’s school. See the attached flyers for more information.
