The board met last week and heard APTA, personnel, school, enrollment projection, data security, administrative procedure and financial reports. The board thanked the APTA for their generous financial contribution to allow a cohort of staff members to attend the Ron Clark Academy earlier this summer.
The board received updates on the leadership retreats that occurred earlier this summer. Seventeen team members met offsite at Anchorage City Hall where Superintendent Solise shared her vision for the district as well as expectations of implementation. The full day of learning and planning included great conversations about leadership, teamwork, and alignment. Members of the administrative team held a second retreat to plan and prepare for the return of staff and students and ensure that we kick off this school year better than ever.
On consent, the board approved vouchers, meeting minutes, multiple service contracts for the 2024-25 school year, KSBA policy service dues, surplus declarations and class sizes. The board approved the Parent-Student Handbook, Staff Handbook, Coach’s Handbook and Emergency Operations Plan for the 2024-2025 school year. Thank you to everyone who provided input into the annual revisions of these important procedural documents that help guide our operations. The board conducted a second reading and approved policy updates provided by the Kentucky School Board Association. Job descriptions for Director of Maintenance and Finance Director were conditionally approved. The board accepted quotes for stage draperies, window shades and window draperies for the auditorium from Phoenix Lighting and Spindletop Draperies.
The next monthly Board Meeting is scheduled for August 19, 2024 at 6:00pm.
