Hale Yes! Dr. William Jackson, principal at Nathan Hale High School, was named this year’s Washington State Secondary Principal of the Year.   

Working to Support Families SPS partnered with FamilyWorks to open a new Family Resource Center at Broadview-Thomson K-8. 

School Board Welcomes New and Returning Members Evan Briggs and Gina Topp, along with incumbents Liza Rankin and Lisa Rivera, won four of the seven seats that were up for grabs on the Seattle School Board in the general election on Nov. 7.

Enrollment for Fall 2024 Opening Soon New registration for the 2024-25 school year begins Jan. 2, 2024. Parents and guardians will be able to enroll their students online or in person at the John Stanford Center. Explore Your Possibilities in SPS! 

Supporting Basic Needs for Students and Families The Right Now Needs Fund ensures students can fully participate in classroom activities by covering the costs of warm clothing, meals, and housing. 

Transportation Updates Families will be able to access yellow bus transportation snow routes through their parent or guardian Source account. 

Last Chance to Apply for ARE The deadline to apply for the 2024-25 cohort for the Academy of Rising Educators is Friday, Dec. 15.

Register for the 2024 Family Connectors University All SPS families are invited to join Family Connectors University, a family-focused online course to help parents and caregivers support their child’s learning and growth.

Free College Tuition The Learning Center Seattle Open Doors Program is designed to provide support and services to individuals 16-21 seeking educational, vocational, and career opportunities. Apply today! 

FAFSA and WASFA Open Soon The applications for federal and Washington state financial aid open in December.  

Prepare for the Promise The Seattle Promise Scholarship is open to all SPS graduates. Join an upcoming workshop to get help with the Seattle Colleges scholarship application.   

Help Wanted The Youth Tutoring Program needs volunteers to guide and inspire 1st through 12th grade scholars by helping them achieve academic and personal success. 

Your Future is Calling The application for the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship is open until Dec. 14. Earn up to $40,000 for college!
