Scholarship Winners are Ready to

Change the World

Jennifer Ochiagha is a full-time grad student in mental health with a full-time job AND an internship. Her schedule is chock-full, but "There’s benefits at the end of the rainbow, so that’s what I look towards," she says. Shawn Riley is "a queer black teen man about to change the world." He's eyeing a career in medicine. They both say their scholarships from the Isaacs Center and our partner organization, Goddard Riverside, are helping them pursue their dreams.

Backpack Giveaway August 25

We're giving out backpacks and choose-your-own school supplies at the Isaacs Center to support young people in our community as they head back to school! Join us on Wednesday, August 25 from 3 to 6 PM.

The Goddard Riverside Annual Bash is September 28 at Monarch Rooftop, a spacious lounge bar at 71 West 35th Street with stunning views of the Empire State Building and Midtown Manhattan. Proceeds support Goddard and the Isaacs Center. Get your tickets or become a sponsor now!

There was plenty of cake to go around.

The monthly birthday party is always a highlight of the Older Adult Center calendar. Last month's celebration included cake, Italian ices, dancing, a raffle, and a compact, reusable Isaacs Center shopping bag for each participant born in July. Happy Birthday to all!

Party decorations gave the dining room some extra flair.

The Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) is a non-profit, multi-service organization located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan focused on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers, including our isolated and homebound elderly neighbors.
