SAYING GOODBYE

TO NAMPA'S WATER TOWER

Last Friday, Nampa said goodbye to the water tower which was installed in the early 1970s and could be easily seen off I-84. For many, the tower served as a beloved landmark during their daily commute. While it was a tough decision, the tower had reached the end of its useful life and needed to be replaced.

We posted a short video last week on Facebook/Instagram showing the removal and it has been viewed over 1.2 million times! You can also watch a short video by clicking the above image. (Thank you to Officer Williams and Officer Beltz for taking drone footage!)

Thank you to the JC Constructors team who safely pulled the tower down and are currently dismantling the steel to be recycled. We are excited they are removing the letter 'N' from the tower so we can preserve a piece of Nampa's history for the community. To learn more about why we needed to remove the tower and plans for its replacement (coming in Spring 2025), read our press release here.

NAMPA'S FIRST CITIZEN'S ACADEMY HAS STARTED!

The first "City of Nampa Citizen's Academy" started this week and we have an amazing class of over 40 citizens interested in learning about their city government! We are excited to share more information about city departments over the next eight weeks and answer questions from the participants! The class is currently full, but we look forward to offering additional opportunities in the future!

PS This class is different than the Nampa Police's academy. Information on the NPD program can be found here.

THANK YOU TO

MRS. MINNETTE'S KINDERGARTEN'S CLASS!

Last Friday, Mayor Kling was invited to read a book about kindness to Mrs. Minnette's kindergarten class at Birch Elementary. Thank you to the teacher and students for also sharing your kindness song/dance with the Mayor and for being such amazing young leaders!

Congratulations Nampa Academy High School Graduates!

Mayor Kling was invited to speak to the first graduating class of Nampa Academy High School this week. Congratulations to Coalton, Delores, McKenzie and Cosme on your accomplishment! She was inspired by the grit and determination of those graduating to achieve their goals and wished them the best in the next stage of life.
