Stay Connected. We're advocating for you!
North San Antonio Chamber Members and Partners,

The 87th Texas Legislative Session concluded on May 31st. Attached below are the key bills we advocated for dealing with employer mandates, civil litigation, and workforce needs. The North SA Chamber's advocacy efforts are critical in eliminating barriers that could impact San Antonio's business community's ability to thrive and recover, especially from the pandemic. Governor Abbott announced a Special Session in the fall to address redistricting and pandemic federal funding. He may also call a Special Session to address priority bills that did not pass, SB 14 being one of them. SB 14, the preemption bill regarding Paid Sick Leave and predictive scheduling, was the top priority bill we advocated for during the 87th Legislative Session. Throughout the expected summer Special Session and already signaled Fall Special Session, we will continue fighting to get SB 14 to the governor's desk. With your help by taking action with our Action Alert e-mails, this legislative session was an overall success with many of our priority bills passed. We will continue to need your help and support throughout the upcoming special sessions, so please stay tuned for upcoming Action Alerts and reach out to our Bexar County delegation during these special sessions.

The North San Antonio Chamber advocated for business in numerous bills throughout the legislative session. The results for our top bills are in the document attached. We will continue to stay engaged on your behalf throughout potential special legislative sessions.
The North SA Chamber continues to transition to in-person events. Last week, we safely and successfully hosted Power Networking Breakfast with special guest speakers Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports, and Dave Krupinski, Interim CEO Visit San Antonio. Later this month, we will host our Small Business Outlook Luncheon on June 23rd with guest speaker Scott Willeford with DOCUmation. Join us for an opportunity to gather together and explore the top 5 technology trends all businesses need to know about. Register here.
