Chris Murphy competes in 2024 NCRLA Chef Showdown Mixology Competition

Representing the Beaufort Hotel and 34° North Restaurant, Chris Murphy competed in the first preliminary round of the 2024 NCRLA Chef Showdown Mixology Competition. The next 10 competitors will compete on April 29 with the Grand Finale being held on May 2.

Chris created his own craft cocktail and mocktail using North Carolina ingredients!

The North Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association Chef Showdown, presented by GotToBeNC is North Carolina’s premier culinary and mixology competition open to all professional chefs and bartenders or mixologists currently working in North Carolina.

Join us at 34° North Restaurant as we celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday, May 12, 2024. Our culinary team has created a bountiful breakfast buffet and special à la carte dinner menu just for that day.

Mother's Day Breakfast Buffet served from 8 –10:30 am.

We will feature an omelet station with made-to-order omelets.

The breakfast buffet will include seasonal fruits & berries, assorted fresh baked muffins, country biscuits and gravy, farm fresh scrambled eggs, potato & cheddar casserole, Applewood smoked bacon, country sausage links, Yellow Stone ground grits, and house made French toast with maple syrup.

In addition to the breakfast buffet, your server will provide you with:

orange, apple & cranberry juice, and freshly brewed, locally roasted, Java Estate Blend Coffee.

Prices: Adults $24 per person, Children 9 – 12 years old $14, and Children 4 - 8 yrs. old $7, and Children 3 and under free. Prices are subject to tax and gratuity.

On Thursday, May 24th, we're excited to feature three whiskies with our Basil Hayden Whisky Tasting.

Chef Don and our culinary team will create a small, innovative taste of food paired with each whisky. It all starts at 6 pm.

Tickets are $45.00 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

Wine Dinner at 34° North Restaurant to feature James Beard Semi-Finalist

Just a few tickets remain! We are excited to be hosting a multi-course wine dinner for Beaufort Wine & Food. Wines will be paired with each course.

The annual wine dinner will take place on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 7 pm.

Local Chef Donald Pressley from 34° North Restaurant and Guest Chefs Keith Rhodes from Catch in Wilmington, and Emily Parker from Cornflower Bake House in Greenville, will collaborate on a multi-course meal.

Chef Rhodes is a 2023 & 2021 James Beard Semi-Finalist for "Best Chef in the Southeast" and the 2024 "Restauranteur of the Year" from the North Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association. He competed in Top Chef, Season 9, on Bravo TV.

Chef Parker was named the 2023 "Pastry Chef of the Year" by the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association.
