Pleasant Street Construction Update
Construction is to begin soon; all business will remain open throughout construction!
The City’s contractor, BUR Construction will begin mobilizing the week of 7/12/21. Before construction can begin on Pleasant Street, a temporary traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of Glidden Street and Broad Street. This signal will allow the contractor to change the traffic pattern to one way (southbound) on Pleasant Street from Opera House Square to School Street and one-way on Glidden Street (eastbound) from Pleasant Street to Broad Street. Once Traffic is in this new pattern, the work on Pleasant Street will begin. The early work on Pleasant Street will be utility replacement starting with the watermain.

There will be electronic message boards and construction signs placed throughout downtown to aid drivers in navigating the new traffic pattern. Way finding signs to municipal parking will also be included.
