We are offering Story Times, Lego Hour, Gaming Time, and Movie Matinees (At all libraries). Our Fall Programming will last through mid-December.


Ambrose:

*Note (Lego Hour is a time that children can come and do Lego builds and have camaraderie with other children. All of our libraries have a Lego set, and books that give ideas about Lego builds.)

Mark your calendars for our Fall Library Art Show Reception that will be held at the Douglas-Coffee County Library on Friday, October 4th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. There will be light refreshments served at the reception, and a lot of fine art to enjoy! The Wiregrass Artists Guild and local students will be the featured artists.


The Fall Library Art Show will be available for viewing on Friday, October 4th, at the reception, and on Saturday, October 5th the hours for the art show on Saturday will be when the Douglas-Coffee County Library is open to the public.



We have very talented artists in our area and we are very thankful for them sharing their talents with us. You do not want to miss the opportunity to check out their artwork. There will be a variety of artwork, such as painting, photography, and mixed media formats.

On Saturday, October 5th be sure to stop by and visit all of the vendors at the Gopher Tortoise Festival. The Fall Library Art Show will be available for viewing, and the library will have a booth. Come visit our booth and spin the wheel for a prize, and learn about our programs and services.

Jazz: Live @ Your Library! Saturday, September 14th @ 4PM in the Douglas - Coffee County Library we will have our first jazz performance for you. We are pleased to have Glenn Wilson, and Rory Stuart (https://glennandrory.com/) coming to our library.

LOTE4Kids is our new online database of digital books in World Languages that allows children to enjoy the magic of books in LOTE (Languages Other Than English). Each book also comes with English translations to help kids learn new languages. LOTE4Kids has over 2,000 digital picture books in 50+ languages, from Spanish to Sign Language and French, Mandarin, Hindi and Bengali, Korean, German, Ukrainian, Arabic and so much more. New books and languages are released each month!

ABCmouse Home Access – The award-winning ABCmouse curriculum is designed to help young children (ages 2-8+) build a strong foundation for future academic success. Brainfuse HelpNow provides online tutoring for students in grades K-12 and adult learners. Students communicate with live tutors using an interactive whiteboard to chat, write, draw, copy/paste text or images and graph homework problems. All live sessions are saved and can be replayed as well as shared with friends and teachers by email. Live tutors are available every day from 2 PM – 11 PM. *Note: You will need to use your Satilla Regional Library card and PIN to access.

24/7 Electronic Resources

We have collected all of our electronic resources into a single landing page, so that you can access all of the eBooks in one place. We have our eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eMovies and eMusic linked from our new Your Library on the Go! page.
Tumblebooks is a curated collection of children’s e-books, with over 1,400 titles for grades K-6, and this includes animated talking picture books, read-along chapter books, National Geographic videos, non-fiction books, as well as books in Spanish and French.
Through Georgia Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled, Georgia Public Library Service provides library services for those who are blind or whose physical abilities require the use of books and magazines in audio format or in braille.

eRead Kids: Build confidence and reading skills, and have fun with eRead Kids, a new digital library available through all public libraries in the state. Young readers have access to almost 15,000 electronic and audiobooks. This free collection of ebooks and audiobooks is for kids in pre-K to fourth grade.
