December 2022

LET'S PULL TOGETHER

What a year we have enjoyed at Saskatchewan Rowing! From incredible performances at Canada Games and the NRC's to a big push to update our governance model and policies, the Board and staff have been busy.

In collaboration with Rowing Canada and Sasksport, we have been putting the final touches on the Safe Sport Policy and preparing our clubs and leaders for what these changes mean in our sport. Don't worry we will still enjoy all of the fun of rowing but with a new commitment to abuse free sport and ensuring that everyone has a safe and enjoyable rowing experience. Our volunteers, coaches and staff may be asked to take a few extra steps before getting involved at either the club or provincial level, but I know we agree that it is simple procedure to ensure that rowing remains fair and safe for all!

As we enter the holiday season, I want to thank our hard working Head Coach Andrew Knorr, for a fantastic year of training and competition. And thank you to our committed Board of Directors, who continue to drive forward the priorities of SaskRowing.

We are also saying goodbye to one Board member, Bruce Acton, who steps down as the club rep for Saskatoon. Thank you Bruce for your efforts.

As always, I encourage you to stay engaged with the latest information on abuse free sport. Visit our website for the latest policy updates and take the RESPECT IN SPORT training.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

WE NEED YOUR HELP

This fall, we had the unfortunate experience of having some of our newly acquired umpire gear stolen. Although we are able to replace some of it, we are looking for your help to replace it all.

We are looking for a few pair of gently used binoculars to add to our umpire kits. If you have a set that you would be willing to part with, we would be extermely grateful. Please contact Nicole at skrowoffice@gmail.com.

Thank you for your consideration. If you would prefer to support with cash and receive a taxable receipt, please consider supporting through the Sport Legacy Fund. https://www.sasksport.ca/donate/sport-legacy-fund/
