Santa Clara County, in partnership with the Silicon Valley and Hispanic Small Business Development Centers, has launched the Small Business Grant Program for COVID-19 Protective Measures to provide small businesses with $5,000 grants.
According to the press release, "Businesses can apply for grants to offset the costs of providing paid time for their employees to get tested or vaccinated, constructing outdoor service areas, upgrading their air filtration systems, modifying their physical layouts or ordering and payment systems, purchasing hand sanitizer and personal protective equipment, or taking other protective steps.
To be eligible for grants, small businesses must not have been assessed fines for violation of public health orders, must have submitted required Social Distancing Protocols, must have surveyed their employees for vaccination status, and must commit to comply with public health orders for the duration of the pandemic."
After September 7, there will be a lottery to select the first round of grant recipients with consideration given for smaller businesses and those less likely to have access to capital. Interested business owners can learn more about the program and apply
