Sandra's Story

After living in her condo for 12 years, Sandra and her two sons were unexpectedly forced to move when her landlord decided to sell the condo. She had 60 days in which to find new housing, but as Sandra lives with cerebral palsy she was not prepared to move in such a short time frame. She knew she needed help and was connected with CRC by the Carlsbad Housing Navigator. CRC provided Sandra's family with a hotel for 33 days, paid the deposit and first month’s rent on her new apartment and paid past due utilities. Sandra says “If I did not have help I would have been homeless. I have never gone through anything like this before.” Now Sandra, her two sons and their dog are comfortably living in their new apartment.
Jingle & Mingle Launched CRC's Season of Hope
Thank you to everyone who attended Jingle & Mingle! Although virtual, we had a fun, festive day and raised over $32,000 for our neighbors in need. A special thank you to Anne Daigle and Rich Heyman for their generous $10,000 match gift during the event.
The Season of Hope
As we near the end of 2021, we face the stark reality that many people in our community are hungry, experiencing homelessness or in danger from domestic violence.

Together, we can do something about this. Together, we can help our neighbors create futures full of hope, full of potential, full of laughter.

Your support will provide CRC with the resources needed to assist individuals and families now and into the new year, with food, housing and safe shelter, as well as the Holiday Baskets distribution on December 4.

Please consider making a gift today … thank you for your generosity!

Holiday Baskets: We need your support!
This year, our 39th Annual Holiday Baskets program will serve 900 households plus 200 seniors. Households will receive food, gifts, blankets and jackets in a drive-through distribution on December 4, while holiday gift bags will be delivered to seniors. The food and other items we provide help ensure everyone has a wonderful holiday experience, while giving low-income households some breathing room, so scarce dollars may be spent on other needs such as rent, utilities or transportation.
We have closed registration for donation drives, but you can still support Holiday Baskets, which is part of CRC’s ongoing services that provide food, housing and safe shelter to thousands of people in our community all year long.

  • A gift of $100 can cover the cost of a Holiday Baskets Family Gift Box
  • A gift of $48 can help provide nutritious food for a child for a week
  • A gift of $72 can help provide a night of shelter for a family experiencing homelessness

Thank you for your generosity!
