San Gabriel, CA: On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at approximately 1:45 PM, San Gabriel Police Department Detectives located the male juvenile suspected of the shooting that occurred the day prior outside of Del Mar High School (312 South Del Mar Avenue).
The male juvenile was seen outside a home in San Gabriel, and when approached by Detectives, he fled on foot. During the foot pursuit, the subject tossed a handgun, which was recovered. The male juvenile was taken into custody without incident. The alleged suspect is a student from the San Gabriel Unified School District.
The capture of the alleged suspect could not have happened without the community's help and collaboration with the San Gabriel Unified School District staff.
The investigation is still ongoing.
