Dear Sadharmik Brothers & Sisters,
Jai Jinedra !
As we approach the final day of Paryushan, the sacred period of introspection, penance, and spiritual upliftment, we stand on the cusp of one of the most significant days in the Jain calendar—Samvatsari. This day, also known as the "Day of Universal Forgiveness," invites us to reflect deeply on our thoughts, words, and actions over the past year and to seek forgiveness from all beings, both known and unknown.
Samvatsari is not just a day but a state of mind—a culmination of the Paryushan festival where we embody the spirit of forgiveness. This day encourages us to let go of grudges, anger, and misunderstandings, recognizing the impermanence of life and the importance of harmony in relationships. As we utter the sacred words "Michhami Dukkadam," we sincerely ask for forgiveness from all those we may have wronged, intentionally or unintentionally, and extend our own forgiveness to others.
Anumodna to all the Tapasvis who have undertaken penance during this sacred time! Your dedication to spiritual growth is an inspiration to us all. After the completion of Das Lakshana Parva, JAINA will host a virtual Sanji to honor and celebrate the extraordinary journeys of those 13 years and older who have completed a minimum of 8 days of fasting (Atthhai), as well as younger Tapasvis, under 13 years old, who have completed at least 3 days of fasting (Athham). To be part of this celebration, we encourage all Tapasvis to register their name with their photographs at their local Jain center. JAINA will coordinate with the Jain Center Presidents to collect this information and compile a comprehensive list to be showcased during the virtual Sanji, inspiring others and extending the spirit of Anumodna.
