With these grants, we want to promote the most distinguished ideas for teaching and learning and showcase that excellence in a way that benefits the entire school community. To do this, we must invest in our faculty providing them with the resources to pursue highly customized, professional research and development opportunities. These grants will support them as they innovate their instructional practices and curriculum with the goal to further enhance the VCHS student experience.
The Faculty Innovation Grant work will be highly creative and original, innovate the teaching and student learning experience, and focus on the following areas:
-
Expertise: Improve faculty knowledge and skills in a particular subject matter
-
Engagement: Better engage students in the classroom context
-
Innovation: Demonstrate innovation in teaching, particularly in ways that provide students with knowledge and skills that directly enhance their career paths.
-
Christian Faith Integration: Attention to deepening the integration of Christian faith with teaching and in what students learn
-
Sustainability: Create sustainable and replicable solutions for VCHS faculty and students, as well as other schools, so that they benefit over many years
