Hello Steve, Enjoy our Saints News!
HEAD OF SCHOOL MUSING

After we graduate, will you still think about us? – VCHS Student

Yes. I think about our alumni all the time, especially when I’m on campus. – Mr. O’Neil

A student asked me that question just a few weeks ago. I was caught off guard by the question both wondering what was behind it but also because I had never been asked it before. But it didn’t take long for me to respond. I do think about our alumni regularly, and I do take to heart our VCHS tagline – Family Forever.

Especially when I’m on campus, how could I not think about our alumni? I’m surrounded by reminders of them all the time.

  • Pennants in Rohlwing Commons showcase where recent graduates are at college
  • The Alumni class photo wall
  • The Wall of Fame in Wheeler Athletic Center
  • Memorials along the Eagle River remembering Lauren Mutter ‘05 and Caleb Pearson ‘07
  • Class gifts like the VCHS blue sign on the west lawn and the newly planted trees

This is the year, our 25th Anniversary, when we put a stake in the ground and set two goals: to better connect with our alumni (almost 600) and tell their amazing stories. I couldn’t ask for a better person to do that than Mindy Larson, Director of Alumni Engagement.

For alumni reading, or alumni parents who can forward this Saints News, join us for the home volleyball match followed by the football game on Friday and for Welcome Home: VCHS Alumni reunion on Saturday. All things alumni can be found on the alumni section of our website. This is also the place for alumni (or alumni parents) to share contact information and updates.

So yes, once a Saint, always a Saint. VCHS Family Forever!

Go Saints!

Matthew Phillips, John McAbee, and Jack Hughes spent some of their extra time building this wind tunnel for Aerospace Engineering class. The tunnel measures over 10 ft in length and laminates wind at three speeds through the tunnel. It houses sensors to measure lift and drag. Students created 3D printed airfoils and measured the lift and drag vs. angle of attack and wind speed. They used incense smoke to visualize the airstreams created by the airfoils.
