It’s St. Patrick’s Day weekend and Cabbage Throw Farm is happy to be sharing lots of green cabbage to pair with corned beef! Turn these sweet heads of cabbage into roasted garlic balsamic steaks for a sweet and savory dish. Additional vegetables include carrots, rutabaga, turnips, specialty radish, microgreens, lettuce mix, spinach, shallots, onions and sweet potatoes.

I'm the market manager and I just discover it last week! Love to draw or doodle? Handy with a hole punch? Nurture Nature Center (NNC) is preparing for a new art exhibit called "Insidious Plastics" opening April 16th and we could use your help! We are creating a large installation that looks at life in the Lehigh and Delaware Rivers and the effects of plastics in the river. Stop by and join NNC staff and partnering artists at Easton Public Market this Saturday from 9am - 11am. Lend a hand (no art experience necessary), have a chat, and learn about what you can do to reduce your plastic consumption.

West Ward Market Seeking POP Program Coordinator

The Power of Produce (POP) Club is a farmers market-based children's program that seeks to teach children about fruits and vegetables, local food systems, and healthy food preparation through fun activities and seasonal recipes! Fun weekly activities range from cooking demos to farmers market scavenger hunts focused on nutrition, food, agriculture, and exercise education. This program works with farmers, community organizations, community members, restaurants, and more! Each week, children can participate in the Two-Bite Club by trying new produce in various preparations, get stamps on their POP Passports, and receive $2 in POP Bucks to spend at the market.
Advised and employed by the West Ward Market staff, the POP Coordinator/s will coordinate efforts to educate children and their parents about the benefits of fresh, locally produced food in the community. Produce will be provided by LaFarm. The position will be at the West Ward Market, Wednesdays from 1-8pm (7 hrs.) with an additional 3-5 hours of set-up and preparation for the market each week, for a total of 12 hrs./week dedicated to the program. POP Coordinators should allot a minimum of 10 hours to the program per week.
