2024 Garden of Dreams Gala & Auction

Thank you to everyone who made our gala/auction an enchanting evening in our Garden of Dreams! Your support has been instrumental in fostering a thriving community at Saint Joseph School. As we continue to nurture our dreams, we invite you to join us in our 'Raise the Paddle' initiative. Your contributions will help us breathe new life into our beloved Kennedy Center, ensuring it remains a vibrant space for generations to come. With your generosity, we can transform this space into a true Garden of Dreams, where every event—from Grandparents Day festivities to our theater productions—shines brighter than ever before. Together, let's cultivate a future where dreams blossom and flourish. Stay tuned for updates on our fundraising progress later this week!

Color Wars

Join us for the 5th annual Color Wars, a week-long all-school service competition starting Monday, April 8th to Friday, April 12th, hosted by the Student Council. Students from different grades and classrooms will collaborate on three teams, each representing a designated color, to compete in various challenges and activities to accumulate points. The event aims not only to foster school spirit but also to support the CRUDEM Foundation and the St. Joseph Parish Lenten Haitian Mission. Throughout the week, students can earn points through Penny Wars, wardrobe flair, and participation in lunch and gym games. Let's unite for a fun-filled week of service and camaraderie! See the linked overview doc for more information.

Pack-a-thon for Haiti

The Justice and Peace Committee at St. Joseph’s and the Knights of Columbus Needham are again organizing a Pack-a-thon for Haiti which will be held at the VFW Post, 20 Junction St. in Needham the weekend of April 27-28. We need 300 volunteers to serve a 2-hour shift assembling packets of rice, beans and rehydrated vegetables to feed the people of Haiti. This is a fun service project appropriate for families, groups of teens and anyone age 10-90. Solar Eclipse Info

Residents of New England have a rare opportunity to observe a solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th! Various classrooms will be participating in activities and learning about this rare event. If your student has questions consider the following resources:

  • An educational video on safe eclipse viewing that features former NASA astronaut Dr. Mike Massimino, retired NASA physicist Dr. Rafat Ansari, and medical retinal specialist Dr. Amy Babiuch from Cleveland Clinic.
  • Eclipse Map - Interactive map displaying the impacted areas of the globe.
  • Safety information

We will remind students to avoid directly viewing the sun during dismissal on Monday. We ask that you encourage your students to do the same.

NEASC Re-Accreditation Family Survey

As you may know, Saint Joseph School recently started the accreditation process with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). This professional body works with schools to promote best practices in private education, practices that ensure school improvement, and long-term sustainability. As a part of the self-study, conducted by the school as a part of the accreditation process, we are called to reflect on our practices and identify areas for improvement. The survey below is an opportunity for our parent community to participate in this self-reflection process. All results are sent directly to the school to help guide the ongoing conversations. Click the link to contribute to our community's growth — requiring no more than 15 minutes of your time.
