Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving,
O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Message from Mrs. Tonkovich
In the month during which we honor our mothers, we give special honor to the Blessed Virgin Mary, whom Jesus gave to us as our Mother. The main feature on page one outlines four ways to show our love and appreciation to Mary for her love and care for us.
Conflicts between siblings are common especially as they get older. Read the Parent Talk feature on page two to find out one mom’s solution to help her daughters resolve their arguments on their own, while honing valuable conflict resolution skills.
The Great Commission to spread the Gospel is required of every follower of Jesus, even of children. See the Scripture Lesson for details on encouraging children to help continue Jesus’ mission.

Special Notice: LAST DAY OF SCHOOL 6/12/24
First Communion will be held on Saturday, May 4th at 9:00 A.M. Please pray for our second graders as they receive the Precious Body of Our Lord Jesus Christ for the very first time.
"Lord Jesus Christ, bless the children coming forward to receive Holy Communion for the first time. May this day be the step toward a life-long love of the Eucharist. Give them a hunger for this sacred food so that they turn to you for comfort, guidance, and wisdom as they grow into full discipleship. Thank you for their innocence and goodness. May their hands, extended in anticipation of your body and blood, inspire all of us to cherish this sacred Sacrament. Amen."

The Feast of Our Lady of Fatima - May 13th
Prayer to Our Lady of Fatima
"O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the most holy Rosary, you were pleased to appear to the children of Fatima and reveal a glorious message. We implore you, inspire in our hearts a fervent love for the recitation of the Rosary. By meditating on the mysteries of the redemption that are recalled therein may we obtain the graces and virtues that we ask, through the merits of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer."

On May 13, 1917 three young children (Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta) from Fatima, Portugal reported that the Virgin Mary appeared to them, dressed in white more brilliant then the sun, and requested that they pray the Rosary each day to bring peace to the world and an end to war". Our Lady publicly appeared to the children five more times that year, on the 13th day of each month from June to October, encouraging them to grown in fervent prayer and instructing them to pray the Rosary daily.
Just as she did to the three children in Fatima, Our Lady calls each of us to grow in our personal prayer life - praying more often and fervently.
Throughout this month of May, let us seek the intercession of the Blessed Mother. May we take up the practice of praying the holy Rosary more often - deepening our connection with our Lord through the gift of the His Mother.
“When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple there whom He loved, he said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.” John 19: 26-27
