April 26, 2024

Good afternoon,

Last Friday we had an opportunity to recognize our parent volunteers at our school liturgy, followed by coffee, pastries, and fellowship. Thank you to all who could attend the Mass last week, and to those of you who could not attend, from all of us at Star, we are grateful for your assistance throughout the school year. We can do so many wonderful things above and beyond academics because of your gracious assistance. God Bless you!

I want to send a shout-out to Mrs. Clor, Mrs. Trudel, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Vlahantones, and Mrs. Neer for all their efforts in putting together what turned out to be a very entertaining and fun Saturday evening with Trivia Night benefitting the 8th graders and their trip up north.

April showers bring May flowers – and, of course, warmer weather. Please note, the window for boys to wear school shorts (excluding Friday Mass days), is from May 1st – Oct 15th.  This includes field trips and dress down/spirit days. While on the topic of attire, parent volunteers please be mindful of your attire while helping at school. Christian modesty is expected and appreciated.

As we are winding down the school year, I also feel the need to send a few bullet point reminders about the drop off/pick up procedures.

·      Parents should not exit the car to assist the child. Once the children are out of the vehicle, do not pull out of line; the line will move quickly. Follow along in front of the school to the other end of the parking lot to exit. Please turn right to exit the school lot.

·  There is only one car line. Please do not stop next to the car line and let your children out.

·   Another option is to park your vehicle; use either crosswalk and walk the children to the courtyard entrances. The car line is not expected to stop for pedestrians. Do not park in the car line at any time.

·      Whether you are using the car line or parking, there is to be only one lane of vehicles entering the drive. Do not pass others waiting their turn and cut in front of them.

·      If you bring your dog to school at drop off/pick up, it is to stay inside your car. Dogs are not allowed in the courtyard area.

In closing, I wish you a restful and blessed weekend.

God Bless & Go Sailors!

Mr. Barker
