Summer Safety Includes

Technology Safety

Summer safety for children goes well beyond sunscreen, swimming, biking, and softball/baseball. With the explosion in communication tools, technology should be included within your summer safety checklist.

Project Harmony would like to remind parents of the risks involved and provide parents with a few safety tips to keep children safe as they engage in social media, explore the internet and text friends this summer. Read more...

Meet Justin Carter

DHHS Nebraska Abuse and

Neglect Hotline Administrator

Explain your position with Project Harmony:

I oversee all operations and programs for the Division of Child and Family Services Abuse and Neglect Hotline. This hotline receives and screens all calls and reports related to Child Protection and Adult Protection. We also process background checks statewide for various programs. My responsibilities include managing a team of 69 staff members, which includes 9 supervisors, 1 training supervisor, and 1 deputy administrator.

What led you to work at Project Harmony: My previous experience with law enforcement and non-profits led me to work at the Hotline and partner with Project Harmony.

Tell me about someone who has influenced your decision to work at Project Harmony or a mentor who has helped the most in your career: My dad has been my biggest supporter and mentor to my career with working with children and the local community. We started a non-profit Junior Olympic track program in 2001 that led me to help, support, train, educate and guide youth from all backgrounds.

How do you enjoy spending your time when you are not working: I have three sons, ages 13, 8 and 6 who are all active in sports, so I enjoy coaching and watching them play all year long. When not attending my games, I enjoy golfing.

What is the one thing you are most proud of about your job: I’m most proud about the amazing people I work with and the positive impact we make on families every day.
