Our SAR Mission
“Patriotism - History – Education”
Sacramento Chapter members are working hard, putting together a program whose goal is to donate at least 1776 copies of selected history and historical fiction books that are focused on the American Revolution to participating elementary school teachers who teach American History by the 250 anniversary of the ratification of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th 2026.
Our purpose is to support teachers who teach American History, encourage students to read stories about their heritage that will inspire their patriotism, and help students develop an understanding and appreciation of the freedoms they enjoy.
We will be kicking off our program at the beginning of the 2023/2024 school year, in September. We need your help. Your support of the SAR 1776 Book Challenge is critical! Our next planning session will be at our Chapter August planning meeting on Saturday, August 19th at 9:00AM at Cattlemens Restaurant in Rancho Cordova. Please join us, and see how you can help make a difference in our community. Light refreshments will be provided.

Cyber Scams
If you receive an email from a purported Compatriot in need of help that is unsigned, with no personal contact information seeking contributions to any type of fundraising site; or an email addressing you by name from another member of your Chapter requesting the expenditure of funds or the purchase of gift cards, consider it a hoax. These messages are getting more sophisticated and may even include the unauthorized use of the SAR logo and/or a pseudo SAR email address.
