Dear Students, Judges, Teachers, Parents, and Community Members,
It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the cancellation of the 2024 Sacramento Regional STEM Fair. The NorCal STEM Education Foundation has been working diligently to restore community involvement since the cancellation of the STEM Fair in March 2020. But this year, with the announcement to return to an in-person event, community interest and involvement in the Sacramento Regional STEM Fair has fallen far short of the necessary participation.
This year, NSEF has encountered issues in securing a facility to hold the fair in-person and in recruiting students, judges, and other community resources. These issues have led to an insufficient number of registrants of all types in a manner that would allow us to hold a STEM Fair that is equitable, fair and competitive for participants.
NSEF reached out to our nearest ISEF-affiliated STEM Fair to request that our students be allowed to compete, but they have reported they do not have the capacity to take Sacramento Regional STEM Fair Students as our students are too far outside their service area.
We hope to find increased community involvement for 2025. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, and hope we’ll be able to see you in 2025.
