Calling all SYA families! Kids can join us FREE on July 17 at 4 pm or 7 pm for Potomac League baseball at Capital One Park! All-Star players wear your jersey & hat & be honored at 6:30 pm on the field!!


ALL SYA athletes will be invited onto the field for the National anthem during game 2.


Potomac League rooftop perch features mini-golf, dog park, beer garden, food trucks, games plaza and live music nightly!


Football Officials Wanted!

Fairfax County Youth Football League, Northern Virginia’s preeminent youth football League which covers Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William counties, is searching for referees for the upcoming 2023 season.


Interested applicants must be at least 16 years old. Teachers, high school coaches and high school upperclassmen are encouraged to apply as well as parents of current and former players. We are seeking anyone who is enthusiastic about our sport.


These are paid positions, training and uniforms will be provided by FCYFL. The League season runs from September through early November with training beginning in August. Games are typically held on Saturdays with a few games on Sundays.


Interested applicants should apply with name, position (e.g. assistant HS coach; HS junior; or teacher) and contact information to chairman@fcyfl.org.

Congrats SYA East 8/9 Little Leaguers!


The SYA Little League East 8/9 Specials team swept the District 10 Special Games tournament by and winning a wild, intense championship game against Fairfax National Little League. The game went into extra innings with SYA East prevailing in the 9th inning 8-7, scoring the winning run on a wild throw back to the pitcher. Congratulations to all the players and coaches!

Congrats Rugby GOLD winners!


Three SYA Rugby players recently participated as part of the U16 Lions boys team at the United World Games in Austria and went undefeated to win GOLD! Congrats!

Congrats SYA Little League Softball!


The SYA Little League Softball Majors All-Star team swept the Prince William County Little League All-Star team, winning the District 10 championship title in June. SYA’s All-Star team, now the 2023 District 10 Champion, competed this past week in Culpeper against the other Virginia district champions in the Little League State Tournament.

  • The Stephen A. McLaughlin Fairfax County Champions of Character Awards program honors youth, coaches and parents for extraordinary service in pursuing victory with honor on and off the field of competition. Instituted by the Fairfax County Athletic Council, this program aims to support the ennobling tradition of amateur athletics in cultivating teamwork, leadership, good sportsmanship and community service.


  • Awards are presented to a male and female athlete, coach and parent in each supervisory district for having demonstrated extraordinary service in the athletic community while modeling the basic traits of good character: Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Trustworthiness, Citizenship and Fairness.
