Movies by the Lake: Barbie

TSF was proud to sponsor WCAT's Movies by the Lake on August 8th, featuring the film Barbie. This was a great night to celebrate, since the date marked TSF's 64th anniversary of providing Wakefield students with need-based scholarship assistance! TSF's very own Barbie box was a highlight among the night's Barbie-themed activities and stood out as a crowd favorite at Lake Quannapowitt!

TSF is proud to have earned the Charity Navigator 4-star rating, which designates TSF as an official “Give with Confidence” Charity, indicating that TSF uses its donations effectively based on Charity Navigator’s criteria.

Since 2001, Charity Navigator has been an unbiased and trusted source of information for more than 11 million donors annually.

Spotlight on a Fund

While TSF’s mission is providing scholarship aid to local students, an equally important role we play is remembering and honoring many of our townspeople and local organizations. This is a role that is very meaningful to TSF. The stories behind each of our funds, including those of individuals who gave much to our town and those whose promise was not realized, are a key part of our success. To remember community members, both young and old, families, local groups and businesses in a positive and active way is a significant reason for our accomplishments since 1960 and our continued growth in aiding Wakefield students.

West Side Social Club Fund

The West Side Social Club enjoys an esteemed reputation for its many civic and patriotic activities. Since 1936, the membership's dedication and enthusiasm have brought the community many traditions which continue today. Among the most beloved, are the annual July 4th activities sponsored by the club.

As an organization, the West Side Social Club is proud to be known as a community-oriented entity always ready to give of themselves to help make Wakefield a better place for everyone.

The WSSC is pleased to be able to carry on this tradition in the form of this TSF scholarship. The West Side Social Club Fund was established in 2001 and became permanent in 2008 through the generous donations of its members. The WSSC continues to support this fund through annual contributions made in memory of many long-time dedicated WSSC members.
