FCA is pleased to present a unique opportunity for farmers and ranchers to become involved in giving to FCA through the STEER program. FCA partners with STEER, Inc. in Bismarck, North Dakota. The STEER program equips farmers and ranchers with a unique opportunity to donate to FCA without any cash outlay. The STEER program provides the cattle or seed. Ranchers volunteer to raise the cattle until the cows can be sold. Farmers plant the seed, preparing the crop for harvest. Profits from selling cows or crops go to benefit the sports ministry of FCA. This is a unique and exciting way ranchers and farmers are donating to FCA.

COW/CALF STEER PROGRAM:

Farmer/Rancher decides to participate in STEER's Cow/Calf Program and signs Agreement of Stewardship.

STEER purchases cow, pays for breeding, and farmer/rancher raises calf

Cow is sold under STEER when it reaches market weight

90% of the proceeds go directly to the ministry of choice (the other 10% goes back to STEER to pay for administrative and insurance costs)

FEEDER

A short-term feeder project is a great way to utilize extra pasture, hay, or feed grain. These projects are usually completed in less than 12 months. When the livestock is sold the gain is the amount remaining after the original investment is deducted.

GOD'S ACRES

Your donation to the project is the use of your land and machinery to plant and harvest a crop.

DAIRY COW

A dairy cow is purchased by STEER, tagged by the farmer and its milk is calculated via herd average. The milk dealer mails a monthly check for the designated pounds of milk to STEER where 90% goes back to Southwest MN FCA.

OTHER PROJECTS

STEER offers additional projects involving goats, sheep, and hogs.
