How are You Using Reston's Lakes?

The RA Lakes Equity Working Group is exploring the current awareness and usage of RA’s four lakes, and the group is seeking member input on if, how and why they utilize Reston's lakes and how they would like to use them in the future. A brief lake use survey is available in both English and Spanish; findings will be available in the coming weeks.

Help Decide the Future of Wiehle Avenue

Fairfax County is studying the redesign of Wiehle Avenue between Sunrise Valley Drive to Sunset Hills Road to evaluate Wiehle Avenue’s multimodal operations. As part of this effort, the County is looking to determine how to best transform this corridor from an auto-dominated suburban-designed road to a multimodal urban-designed street. Your input is needed on a variety of potential streetscape designs that include options for pedestrian walkways, bike lanes and traffic flow. Residents are encouraged to submit their thoughts on the proposed concepts or alternate options online. Feedback must be received by July 1.

Get Involved: RA Committee Positions Still Available

Reston Association is still seeking volunteers to serve on both its Election Committee and IT Committee. RA Pools on Holiday Schedule

Due to the upcoming July 4th holiday, all RA pools will operate on holiday hours, meaning that all 15 of RA's pools will be open 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. View the entire 2024 RA pool schedule for a list of pools.

RA offices will also be closed on July 4th.

Reminder: Barton Hill Tennis Courts to Close at the End of June

In anticipation of the upcoming renovation project, the tennis courts at Barton Hill will close after June 30. Renovation work is tentatively scheduled to begin in July; however, cracking in the courts has led to unsafe conditions for play. Neighbors in the area are also asked to avoid using the parking lot immediately adjacent to the courts, as construction crews will be using this area for staging and access to the site. The Barton Hill tennis project will provide a complete court renovation, including a new asphalt surface, fencing, nets, and color coating. Work is expected to be completed next spring.

Additional information is found on the Barton Hill Tennis Project page.

Last Chance: Submit Your Thoughts on the RA Budget

The deadline is approaching for members to submit their feedback on RA budget priorities for 2025. This is your chance to share with RA your thoughts on where to enhance existing services or introduce new ones. All suggestions are being reviewed by the Board of Directors, taking into consideration the financial resources available. Your input will help us prioritize potential additions or improvements for inclusion in the forthcoming budget, set to be finalized in the fall of 2024.

Simply fill out the online form with your ideas, including their intended location, purpose, and estimated costs or cost savings. Thoughts can also be submitted via email to RABudget@reston.org or by mail to Reston Association, ATTN: RA Budget Suggestions, 12001 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA 20191. All suggestions must be received by Monday, July 1st.
