The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) announced their finalized Fair Lending, Fair Housing, and Equitable Housing Finance Plans to address barriers to sustainable housing opportunities.

The National Association of Realtors® applauds FHFA's efforts to codify existing practices and programs, which shows a sustained commitment from the agency to remove obstacles to homeownership and expand opportunities for home buyers of all backgrounds, including first-time and low-and-moderate income buyers.

FTC Issues Final Rule Banning Non-Compete Agreements

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a final rule (link is external)

banning all non-compete agreements. Last year, the FTC issued a proposed rule regarding the banning of non-compete agreements, and the FTC received several thousand comments.

NAR Issue Brief: FinCEN's Renewed Geographic Targeting Order

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), one of the U.S. Treasury’s leading agencies in the fight against money laundering and financing of terrorism, has renewed the Geographic Targeting Order (GTO) that imposes data collection and reporting requirements on title companies involved in certain high-end real estate transactions.
