FIRST EUCHARIST
We are thrilled for our second grade students who will receive their First Holy Eucharist this weekend. Thank you to all who have helped these students prepare for this important day including Miss McLeay, Mrs. Owens, Mr. Nelson, Mrs. Babcock, Mrs. Grenier, Ms. Ciciulla, and Mrs. Fuller. Please keep these students in your prayers on Sunday, April 7th as they receive this special Sacrament.

TEACHER AND STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK
Teacher and Staff Appreciation week is around the corner and Straight from the Heart has many exciting gifts and activities planned for the week. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to Straight From the Heart and to those who donated extra items to make this week special for our teachers and staff!

MATH LEAGUE PRESS CONTEST RESULTS
Recently, some of our 6th, 7th and 8th graders participated in the Math League Press contest. The students take a test and the top five scores from each grade are submitted with the sum of those scores representing the school scores. Students and the schools are then ranked regionally and nationally.
Congratulations to our 6th graders who earned 2nd place nationally AND regionally! The top students were:
- Roman Chapeau, Connelly Cunningham, and Macy Phillips - Tied for 11th Place Nationally
- Daniel Martinez - 9th Place Nationally
Our 7th graders earned 5th place nationally. Top scorers in 7th grade were:
- Connor Carney, Thomas Morrison, Michael Rusch and Julie Zboja - Tied for 11th Place
- Richard Marip - 10th Place
- Jon Sample - 9th Place Nationally
Congratulations to our 8th graders who placed second both nationally and regionally! Top scorers in 8th grade included:
- Luke Engel and Jonathan Walker - Tied for 10th Place
- Saron Goitom and Thomas Smith - Tied for 9th place
- Bronson Chapeau - 6th Place

TUITION INFORMATION
2024-2025
Tuition Contracts for the 2024-2025 school year have been uploaded to your Blackbaud account. Please electronically complete one tuition contract per child in Blackbaud by Friday, May 3. Registration fees for K-8 of $100 per child are due at the time of registration, along with the administrative fee. We appreciate your help electronically completing the tuition contract. If you have any questions, please email Nina Englin at nina.englin@spsl.net. If your student(s) will not be returning to SPSL for the 2024-2025 school year, please contact Kathy Graney in the office at kathy.graney@spsl.net or (402) 551-6667.

OPTIONAL DRESS DOWN DAY
Friday, April 12 will be an optional dress down day, with proceeds being given to St. Pius X and St. Leo Parishes to help offset some of the costs of their parish festivals. Students are asked to donate at least $1.00 if they are able. This is a great way to give back to our Parishes that support SPSL students on a daily basis.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING
All adults 19 or older who work or volunteer at a Catholic parish or school are required to complete Safe Environment Certification. Safe Environment training is required to attend field trips, be a classroom volunteer, and help serve lunch. We are offering training for those new volunteers or those needing to renew their out of date certification. Certifications are valid for six years. We are excited to offer both Spanish and English training options in April. Please see the following information about these trainings.

RACE FOR EDUCATION THANK YOU
Thank you for working together to help with the Race for Education fundraiser! We are excited to report that we have started to receive donations from your students' sponsors! We've received donations from locations such as AR, CA, CO, FL, HI, IL, IA, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NE, OK SD, TX, WI, WY, and even Spain!. Your family and friends have been so generous with their donations and we want to make sure they know how much we appreciate them! Please email Jess Fisher at jess.fisher@spsl.net to get a list of your child's sponsors. Please thank them in the form of a phone call, text, card, video, hug, etc. Race for Education wouldn't be successful without their support!

SOLAR ECLIPSE NEWS
Monday, April 8th, is the solar eclipse. For our students' safety, PreK-3rd and 5th grade students will remain indoors from 12:15-3:00pm. Students in 4th and 6th-8th grades will use protective eyewear purchased for their classrooms to view the eclipse. If you do not want your 4th or 6th-8th grader to view the eclipse, please email your student's homeroom teacher or call the school (402) 551-6667 by 8:00am on April 8.

SPSL FUNDRAISER: DONATION IDEAS AND CONNECTIONS
Plans are starting for the next SPSL Fall Fundraiser which will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 (please save the date and plan to attend!). Do you have connections for unique or popular donations for our auction such as hotel stays, golf outings, sports tickets, or concert tickets? ST. PIUS X / ST. LEO SCHOOL GOLF CLASSIC
Join us for the St. Pius X / St. Leo School Golf Classic! This is the 20th anniversary of our annual golf tournament, and it will take place Monday, May 20 at Field Club of Omaha. It is a fun-filled day for parents, alumni, and friends in support of St. Pius X / St. Leo School. Sponsorship Opportunities are available. Registration fills up fast, so act now by registering online here or you may print the Registration Form. If you are not a golfer, but you are willing to help there are opportunities for you too!
