MOVE OUT TIMELINE
Residents are asked to move out within 24 hours of their last Final in order to be courteous to others who still have finals remaining.
All residents must be completely moved out by Friday, May 10th at 8:00pm.
The only exceptions to this rule are those residents that have a Final from 7:00-10:00pm the evening of Friday, May 10th. If you have a Final at this time and need to stay until Saturday morning, please email the Resident Director at rdirector@bromco.com. As part of your e-mail, be sure to include:
- Your name
- Your room number
- The class which the final exam is for
The deadline to email your request for a Saturday checkout is Friday, May 3rd, though we encourage you to send it as soon as possible if you need to stay.
Bromley Hall closes completely for all residents on Saturday, May 11th at 11:00am - no exceptions.
MOVE OUT PROCESS
All residents will check out at the Front Desk and must return the following items. Failure to return any of these items will result in replacement costs being deducted from their security deposit.
- Room Key
- Key Fob
- To-Go Container
ROOM INSPECTIONS
The last person leaving the room has the responsibility of getting your room inspected by a Resident Advisor. When the last resident is ready to leave your room, please find your floor's Resident Advisor to inspect your room. If they are not available, notify the front desk and another Resident Advisor will assist with inspection. Note that your room needs to be 100% empty (including all items and trash) before it can be inspected. You will be charged for the removal of any trash or items that remain in your room. There will be a large trash receptacle and donation boxes located behind the building for you to deposit unwanted items.
SECURITY DEPOSITS
After Move Out has concluded, our maintenance staff will conduct a final inspection of all rooms. Once this inspection is complete, security deposit refunds will be processed and checks will be mailed out, less any damages, within 30 days.
MAIL, PACKAGES, & BIKES
Remember to pick up all mail/ packages before leaving. All packages left here or sent to the building following move-out will be returned to sender. Also, remember to change any subscriptions with a Bromley Hall address. Residents will be asked to provide a forwarding address upon checkout. Please note though that we will only forward First-Class Mail for the 30 days immediately following May 10th. Lastly, any bikes left on the Bromley Hall bike racks after June 1st, 2024 will be donated to the Campus Bike Center at 51 E. Gregory Dr., Champaign, IL
