WE HAVE LAUNCHED A KICKSTARTER
CAMPAIGN

Great news!  Athena has been invited to do a one-person exhibition of her drawings and paintings (total of 21 pieces) at the Tri-Mission Gallery of the American Embassy in Rome, Italy.  Further, she has been invited by the curator to come to Rome for one week to attend a celebration of her exhibition, meet the American Ambassador, and explore further connections in Rome that includes exhibition and educational possibilities for Studio A Gallery students and artists.    All of this has happened very quickly, and we are unprepared for the considerable expenses connected to the show and her trip.  These include framing, shipping, insurance, air and ground travel, lodging, meals, and more.  So, the idea of this Kickstarter campaign sounded very interesting, and after considerable labor to make it happen, it was launched a few days ago.  We are asking for your support in making these plans become a reality, and ask you to look at the link below, which we think you will find interesting, and give it some serious thought.  Your contributions will go a long way in helping Studio A Gallery.  And we thank each of you in advance for your interest and possible support.

We have also launched Athena's new website, www.athenabinghe.com, and we encourage you to check it out for further information on her newest work.

Again, thank you!

TALENT OF THE TOWN
Student Exhibition 2014

The opening reception for our 2014 student exhibition was wonderful.  The installation was of the student's work, from small drawings, large watercolors, first time oil paintings, and student portfolios, all of which were artworks produced in Studio A Gallery art classes conducted by Athena.  Alongside the work were student-artist statements and interesting testimonials  by students and parents.  Parents, Grandparents, siblings and friends, attended the opening, are were amazed at the quality of work that was on display.  It was a great party.  The exhibition was a tribute to the five years Studio A Gallery has been in existence, to the unique art instruction by Athena, and to the many students that have experienced these classes over the years, and have found personal and meaningful successes as a result.  Many of these students have gone on to substantial art schools as a result of their work at Studio A Gallery.  We are very proud for them and wish for their further development into practicing professional artists that represent a foundational art education that identifies traditional skills and techniques alongside a true passion for art and art making.   Talent of the Town 2014 is up until October 5th-we encourage you to see it before it closes.

STAY TUNED!
We are planning our next exhibition.  It will be a surprise.  The opening reception for this new show will also be a party for the Kickstarter campaign. We look forward to personally meeting our Friends of Studio A Gallery and telling you more about Athena's Rome exhibition and her scheduled trip.
Our upcoming Newsletter will include the details of the next exhibition and the Kickstarter party.

We are always grateful for your continued interest and support of Studio A Gallery.  Thank you from both of us.  Athena and Max
