“Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.” ~ Rumi, The Guest House.
As 2020 unfolded and we were led into stillness within, with the tremendous deconstruction of our life and work patterns, it gave us time and space to be open and receptive on how we are co-creators of our universe. We are the energy.
As we welcome the new year, with intentions supported by new energy and bright ideas, it is helpful to welcome the attitude of perceiving life as an undulation rather than as a line that goes from one place to another. Life moves in rhythms and cycles. It is forever becoming, existing, and dissolving. Since we are part of life, expressions of the life force, we are also bound to the cyclical, undulating nature of life. We will notice that things (just like love) have a way of appearing, existing, disappearing, and returning.
How can we live more in the present moment and less in the past or future? How can we love (instead of fear) what’s right in front of us? One big step is learning to respond, not react. Are we observing the situation accurately or are we projecting baggage from our past onto what is happening in the present?
Living life in loving awareness is true meditation: not trying to enter into some altered state but finding the courage to live. With curiosity and courage - and guided by our relentless love of our open heart - we can listen deeply to our own innate wisdom that unfolds inside us, opening us to the sacredness of everything in life.
Open our hearts to the fullness of life. Surrender to life. When we surrender, we give up needing to know what is going to happen. Surrender means loving exactly what is. It involves taking in the present moment and being fascinated with everything that is. In this way, we can put our energy on what we can control in the present - appreciative, open to learning, responsible and loving.
Is it important to remember that our experience of the energy we call love, the experience of connectedness, waxes and wanes as does everything else. Like ripples in a pond, our love spreads out in circles and changes all it touches...as a way of calling us into that open, warm, spacious dimension of loving awareness.
May this new year bring you tremendous beauty and wonders of life. One that’s filled with love, joy, wellbeing and creativity. Being loving awareness, and opening your heart to the fullness of life.
Enjoy the love around you, feel loved, and be true to yourself.
Much love,
