SUMMER SERVICES COMING OUR WAY JULY-AUGUST, 10 AM
A note from Rev. John: We will be running a full schedule of summer services from July 4th through August 29th. Services will be both in person (sign-up is necessary to attend) and we will continue to be live-streamed for ZOOM. The services will be diverse in nature and delivered by TUCW congregants on a wide array of subjects, including, prayer, grief, sacred practice and faith. Sunday Services will be held at 10:00 AM. Childcare at the church will be provided for pre K-5th grade. There will be online break-out room discussions and in-person (outdoor) discussions afterwards. Please stay tuned to SOUNDINGS for the full summer schedule coming soon.
ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVE: INITIAL START-UP STEPS
Thanks to so many of you who expressed support of our newly-framed Engagement initiative. The world continues to be our oyster!

Here's what would be helpful RIGHT NOW:
  • Greeters for our in-person AND online Sunday services
  • Ambassadors/buddies for our newcomers: we'll pair you up with a new friend
  • Caregivers to provide meals to congregants in need
  • Some folks familiar with the real estate biz ...

None of this requires you to commit to being on a standing committee, but rather, we just ask that you be available at some points to help out for an hour or two. Let's chip in and work it!

Please tell me of your interests. Beth Cliff beth@uuwestport.org or 203.227.7205 x 16.
FOREST BATHING: THURSDAY JUNE 3, 10AM - 12 NOON
Forest Bathing, or Shinrin yoku, is the experience of taking in nature with all the senses. Doctors prescribe this in Japan as an antidote to stressful living. It has been shown to reduce stress, boost immunity and improve cognitive functioning. In this encounter we will be with nature instead of passing through it. Expect walking meditation followed by sitting and being with our natural surroundings.

Open to all; sign up limited to 12 adults. Hosted by the Sankars in Ridgefield. Contact Carol Hamilton or text 1.203.767.4018
LIVE FROM VOICES CAFE: SATURDAY JUNE 19
Pic of Goodnight Moonshine

MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH ...
• A study released this month found almost 50% of parents surveyed said the pandemic has caused mental health problems for one or more of their children, with 19% reporting major problems.

How do you distinguish between typical child/adolescent behavior and signs of a mental health condition? How do you know it's time to seek professional help?
