WE PLEDGE TO MAKE OUR COMMUNITY THRIVE
Our Sunday services live on, virtually, each week while our digital connections - Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, our social email group, our online Caring Network - serve as spiritual platforms for our congregation to connect, share worries, and help each other. As we move towards physically being back together again, we will continue to sing in the choirs, act through our Social Justice groups, and join one another in the space we call home.

The people, documents, utilities, and programs that make all this possible require support from our pledges. Exceeding our goal for the Annual Operating Budget Campaign will allow us to support more programs and create more energy to fuel TUCW. Coming in short of our goal will mean difficult choices that reduce our impact. The current global situation is a clear sign that being under-budget cannot be an option. Please pledge as you can. Remember, payments are not due until June 2022.
Last week during our service we heard from Steve Grathwohl, Treasurer of TUCW's Board of Trustees, as he spoke about why he pledges. A powerful message: enjoy!

You can pledge now by clicking HERE or going to the front page of our website, uuwestport.org whenever you feel so moved.

UUTHEVOTE: POSTCARDS! and MOVIE DISCUSSION MARCH 30, 7PM
We take action against the moves to limit voting: 250 laws in 43 states! Democracy is endangered. We start our fight against suppression by contacting BIPOC infrequent voters in VA, where a critical gubernatorial race is heating up, through Reclaim Our Vote.

Needed: 11 more volunteers to each write 60 postcards and send to Virginia by April 17. Enlist family and neighbors. Sending 1300 cards, we'll likely get 325 people to vote! Jamie Forbes will inform you when and where to pick up. You buy 36-cent stamps. (Some scholarship monies available.)

And watch "Suppressed 2020" then discuss on Tuesday, March 30, 7:00 PM. To get the ZOOM link or to volunteer for postcards to Virginia, contact Janet Luongo.
PASS CLEAN SLATE ... NOW!
UPCOMING EVENT AFTER SERVICE MARCH 28
Why Clean Slate
Clean Slate legislation is now before the Connecticut General Assembly. It will create an automatic process to erase certain prior Connecticut criminal convictions from an eligible person’s record after they have completed their punishment and remained crime free for a number of years. Read about Clean Slate HERE.

A criminal record should not be a life sentence limiting employment, education, housing, and other opportunities for those formerly incarcerated to successfully rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society.

Join us next Sunday, March 28 after the Sunday Service and hear from people who have first-hand experience with what Clean Slate would mean for them. And what we can do. Questions? Contact David Vita.
