OUR ANNUAL PLEDGE DRIVE CONTINUES THROUGH-OUT MARCH

How much is "just right" to pledge?

We are off to a great start! So far, we have achieved 41% of our pledging goal based on 51 pledging families!

Congregants often ask how much the right amount is to pledge. The answer is…it’s up to you!  A good way to determine an amount is to look at the value that you and your family receive from our congregation.  For reference, the UUA offers the following chart to help guide our giving.  Many faith communities request a minimum of 10% of one’s income – our congregation does not ask for a specific amount.  Consider what our community means to you and determine your pledge accordingly. And remember you can always pledge now by clicking HERE.
Last week we were treated to a wonderful testimonial from Ruth Fontilla, one of our newest members. We share it here as inspiration! And be sure to sign up for a Virtual Pledge Party today. RSVP HERE.

NEW PROGRAM LAUNCHES IN APRIL:
BUILDING YOUR OWN THEOLOGY, THURSDAY EVENINGS
We are pleased to announce that Rev. John will be again offering the "Building Your Own Theology" ("BYOT") program, designed to help participants identify and grow their own spiritual identity. BYOT is focused first on the individual and their own faith development including topics such as ethics, God (or not), Evil and the Afterlife.

In September, Rev. John will be offering a longer course developed by the UU Faith Collaborative based on his doctoral thesis "Creating Theology Together" (CTT). There we will go beyond what each of us believes and create a faith we can believe in together.

All are welcome at both programs; there are no prerequisites.

Please join Rev. John for BYOT on April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, 7-8:30 PM. RSVP HERE.

JAMES BALDWIN OUTLOUD: AT THE INTERSECTION OF ART & SOCIAL JUSTICE

As the world grapples with systemic racism, The Unitarian Church in Westport will host James Baldwin OutLoud, a virtual mix readings and archival video featuring Baldwin’s words, both written and spoken. A world-famous author, social critic and Civil Rights activist, Baldwin devoted his life to a message of brotherhood: a clarion call for equality that is both breathtakingly eloquent … and incredibly, painfully relevant.
