PODCAST DISCUSSION MONDAY, JANUARY 3, 7:00-8:00 PM
Yo Yo Ma
Join us as Dr. Heather Hamilton hosts this month’s online podcast discussion. The topic will be the On Being podcast episode, “Yo-Yo Ma, Music Happens Between the Notes.” “Ma resists fixed boundaries and would like to rename classical music just “music” — born in improvisation, and traversing territory as vast and fluid as the world we inhabit. In this generous and intimate conversation, he shares his philosophy of curiosity about life, and of performance as hospitality.”

Listen to the podcast HERE and come ready to share your thoughts. ZOOM HERE.
NEW! SACRED TEXT DISCUSSIONS: SUNDAYS, 9-9:45 AM
JANUARY 16 - FEBRUARY 20
This winter we excited to offer six sessions of discussion and reflection on selected spiritual/sacred texts. These sessions meet Sunday mornings BEFORE the service, on ZOOM and in person.

Here is an opportunity to listen and learn with each other, as we delve into the words and legacy of some wise leaders and thinkers that have graced our world, over time. These texts are short passages chosen by our six facilitators, who will share them and then invite us to comment, react and be thoughtful: What does this mean for us today? How does it shape our lives and the choices we make?

For further information click HERE or contact Linda Lubin. Thank you in advance to our discussion leaders:
  • Rev John - Jan 16
  • Diane Cano - Jan 23
  • Dayle Brownstein - Jan 30
  • Rainy Broomfield - Feb 6
  • Kim Warman - Feb 13
  • Beth Cliff - Feb 20

PROTECT OUR RIGHTS
ONLINE VIGIL THURSDAY, JANUARY 6, 7:00 PM
Please gather with us on ZOOM at 7:00 PM on January 6, the anniversary of the attack on the U.S. Capitol. We will hear from local leaders of faith and advocates for voting rights about how our voices matter. We are all invited to speak from our hearts recalling our emotions during the insurrection, and together we will find a way forward. This meeting is in conjunction with similar meetings and vigils taking place across the country. For info including ZOOM link contact Janet Luongo.
RESIDENTIAL SEGREGATION:
CAUSES, CONSEQUENCES & COMMUNITY ACTION
SUNDAY, JANUARY 16, 11:00 AM ON ZOOM
Please join us immediately after our ZOOM service on Sunday, January 16, for our second program on residential segregation. We are excited to welcome Peter Harrison, Senior Policy Fellow at Desegregate Connecticut, a coalition of neighbors and nonprofits that believes in creating abundant, diverse housing in service of equity, inclusive prosperity, and a cleaner environment.

To follow up on our November 7 showing of “Segregated by Design,” Mr. Harrison will discuss racial segregation and it’s consequences in Connecticut as well as laws, policies and community efforts to create more diverse, inclusive neighborhoods. Rev. Morehouse will moderate this virtual program, which will also feature artwork, music and a Q&A session with our speaker, who will share actions we can take to advance equity and justice.
