STARTING POINT BEGINS AGAIN SATURDAYS IN MARCH
Our next Soul Matters Starting Point program meets four Saturdays in March, 12-1:30 PM. For more information contact Linda Lubin.
Ann Bova co-facilitates one of our Soul Matters Sharing Circles. As a long-time UU, Ann joined our congregation in 2019 after moving to Fairfield. “As a recent widow, I was looking forward to meeting new friends and taking on various activities, then Covid hit. I was fortunate to join one of the Soul Matters groups which has made a big difference in my new life here. It has not only introduced me to a wonderful group of people but also allowed me to further explore my UU faith and values in a new and deeper way. I feel re-energized and renewed!” (And you can say hi and welcome to Ann by emailing her here!)

Thursday, February 18th - When Justice Is Not Equal
part of Accelerating Justice - an essential webinar series
Last year our TUCW UU the Vote team partnered with the Center for Common Ground, writing postcards to suppressed voters as part of the “Reclaim Our Vote” initiative. We will continue to work with the Center in the future; it is a strong partner of our UU the Vote efforts nationally.
Sadly, since Election Day many pieces of proposed legislation have been submitted to state legislatures with the intent to reduce access to voting, especially where there are high BIPOC populations. These legislations are likely to become law unless UUs and others dedicated to true democracy rise up and act.
The Center will be co-hosting an "Accelerating Justice" webinar series where we'll learn about what's going. Let's educate ourselves so we can continue to protect voting rights. Info and registration HERE.

INTERFAITH SESSION PROVIDED USEFUL
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE EDUCATION
Unitarians were well represented at our Interfaith discussion on Domestic Violence last Saturday morning. These situations are complex, and even more so because they are invisible to so many. We share with you just one of the many eye-opening sets of facts, in this case as it relates to the special challenges our BIPOC communities face. And these pandemic times make it more challenging for all of us: pressures abound. For further information, contact Wendy Levy as head of our Safe Congregations group, or the DVCC.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING
REVEALING HISTORY: HOW WE GOT HERE, WHY IT MATTERS
The Revealing History planning team is grateful to the TUCW community for its support of our program and to all who invited family, friends and colleagues. Nearly 200 people joined us for our inaugural event to learn more about racial injustice through art, photography, music, poetry and our guest speaker. For more, click HERE.
And we'd like to hear from from you! Your feedback, which will be anonymous, will help guide our planning for future programs. Please complete our quick survey, HERE.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETS THIS TUESDAY FEBRUARY 16 7-9 PM
Our Board of Trustees will be meeting this Tuesday, February 16. Minutes and reports can always be found HERE. Please let us know if there are items you'd like to have discussed by emailing us at board@uuwestport.org.
Reminder that on January 31 we heard from Luke Garvey as he shared with us our congregation's Priority Ends for the year, and a bit about how we are doing against those ends so far. Recall our priorities are:
- ““We become a sustainable, engaged, growing Congregation comprised of all generations.”
- We live out our commitment to promoting social justice causes, especially racial justice and gender equity.”
Take a listen! And please join us on Sunday February 28 after the service when we'll be discussing what these ends could look like for us as we get closer to reaching our goals. As Luke says: "Help us paint the picture."
