CHORAL CHAMELEON CONCERT FEBRUARY 24, 2024 ~ 7:30 PM | |
|
Ready for something new, for something exciting, for something engaging, for something unusual, something beautiful? What could encompass all of that? Choral Chameleon! Choral Chameleon is a group of young professional musicians from New York who have as their goal the re-envisioning of choral music in the 21st century. Hear pieces you cannot hear anywhere else and by composers who have their finger on the pulse of our world. You don't have to travel into NYC to do it. Our director of Music says: "One of the finest choral groups anywhere is here in our sanctuary to share sounds that provide you with strength and inspiration. Take advantage of this rare opportunity."

Moral Tales (Kindergarten - 3rd grades): Moral Tales will discuss flaws and imperfections and introduce the idea that some personal “flaws” serve a greater purpose. Participants will hear the story, The Cracked Pot, which the K-3rd graders will turn into a play that they will perform on April 7th. After class, the K – 6 grades will have music led by Lexi Fonda from 11:00a – 11:20a.
Riddle and A Mystery (4th – 6th grades): The Riddle and A Mystery class will discuss the question: What happens when we die? In one sense, all of us may one day know the answer, for death is surely our fate. Yet, none of us can know what death is like while we are living. Nevertheless, the inherent impenetrability of this question has not stopped humanity from asking us. In this session, participants will discuss various beliefs about death, hear ideas from the UU faith, and explore their own beliefs. After class, the K – 6 grades will have music led by Lexi Fonda from 11:00a – 11:20a.
7th – 9th grade: The 7th - 9th grade participants will not have classes on Feb 25th. The 7th - 9th grade will start the Coming of Age program on March 3. Please email Angi at angi@uuwestport.org, if your child would like to participate in the Coming of Age program.

Youth Group (10th – 12th grade): Youth Group meets on Sunday at 10:00a in the meeting house. Lisa and Patti will lead the third session of Mind Body Skills. Mind Body Skills program focuses on self-care techniques and mindfulness training gives participants tools to manage stress and find balance.
Community Connections (All): If you delivered a Care Package for Community Connections to our UU friends who cannot physically come to our campus, then please email Angi pictures and/or a summary of your experience. If you had a nice conversation or a little hug, I’d love to hear about it and share it with the children/teens. angi@UUwestport.org.

It can be a wonderful gesture to donate flowers for our Sunday services. A traditional hanging basket, or flowers of your own choosing that you bring to us, are both great options. Take them home with you after the service. Please reach out to Ruth Fontilla to get the process going. We look forward to celebrating with you!

Please wear your nametag on Sunday mornings. If you've lost yours, let an usher know, and we'll get a new one made up for you. Or you can contact Ruth in the office.
