“A CRISIS IGNORED: MURDERED AND MISSING INDIGENEOUS WOMEN” VIRTUAL MEETING, 7-8 PM
March is recognized as Women’s History Month where many of us recognize and celebrate all women for their achievements, and encourage a gender equal world. However, little attention or visibility is given to a specific group of women: the thousands of Indigenous women and girls who are murdered or go missing annually in our country. Join us online to learn more about the crisis of “MMIW:” Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women. Grandmother Nancy Andry will present with Q&A to follow. This is sponsored by the UU Westport's BLM committee and is open to all women and men in our congregation. Please invite others you think will be interested. ZOOM link HERE.

WORSHIP SERVICE: 10:00 AM
“PERSISTENT RESISTENCE” – REV. DR. JOHN MOREHOUSE
Our mission is to ‘Inspire, Connect and Act’. This service will explore just how important persistence is to the love and work we do together. On this Palm Sunday, Rev. John will draw from the story of Jesus a connection to what it means to live into this mission in our changing world. Between inspiration and action come the ties that bind us into one beloved community.
Click HERE for the Order of Service. The service will be in person and virtual; attendance guidelines are HERE. Broadcast of the service is available at uuwestport.org/livestream.
Offering can be made on VENMO ("The Unitarian Church in Westport"), on vop.tucw.org, or feel free to mail in cash or check.

MARLISS WALTHER RECOGNIZED AS
APRIL-MAY LEADING LIGHT AWARD WINNER
The Leadership Development Team is pleased to recognize Marliss Walther as our Leading Light for this April-May season. This award recognizes leaders who embody our culture of service and volunteerism.
The hospitality Marliss provides our congregation, week after week, in the kitchen and West Wing for coffee hour, brings community and connection to us all, and is especially notable since she manages this quietly, without fanfare, and sees it through from the first brew of coffee to the last dustbin of floor crumbs, often well after everyone else has left. Her kindness and efficiency behind the scenes truly embodies a culture of service we need and value here. And it’s not just Sunday mornings, but for other days too, most notably, on Voices Cafe concert days. Please join us in congratulating Marliss (and perhaps - offering a way to how YOU can help her on Sunday mornings!)
