A 44-year-old woman discovers she is pregnant for the first time in her life. In yielding, she is empowered by pausing. This homily is for everyone including those who may have considered fathering an idea, mothering a business, or working on being human.

Adair Heitmann is an award-winning author, storyteller, artist, and educator. She received four awards, including First Place, from the 2022 Connecticut Press Club for her writing and speeches. Her call-to-action is in true personal experience narratives with inspiring messages for all. Through them she examines identity, self-acceptance, relationships, creativity, and transformation. She is a Connecticut Artist Grant recipient and she is a Poet-in-Residence in schools with Silvermine Art Partners Outreach. Adair is active in an international global visual storytelling platform and is part of The BAT Storytelling Exchange. She has been a member of The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Westport since 2005.

The service will be in person and virtual. Broadcast at uuwestport.org/livestream. Offering can be made on VENMO ("The Unitarian Church in Westport"), on vop.tucw.org, or feel free to mail in cash or check.
