WE'RE ON FOR THIS SATURDAY - AUGUST 6, 8:30AM - 4PM!
|
|
Our beloved building has been magically transformed into an eclectic, bustling boutique - our huge Tag Sale. It actually wasn’t magic at all, but thanks to the dedication, muscles and persistence of an amazing corps of members, the transformation is complete. We are heartened by so many willing to dig deep to help support our beloved community!
If you haven’t had a chance to be part of the effort, there is still an opportunity. Please join us 4-6 PM on Saturday to help reset the building for Sunday worship. That would be a great help. AND, if you could commit to hauling away a box or two to a local Goodwill or another organization who could benefit from any of our leftovers, that'd be fabulous too.
Thank you, thank you! See you Saturday, and spread the word to your friends!

This is Thursday at noon ... what will Saturday look like! Come and find out!

IGNITE CREATIVE POWER TO DEFEND DEMOCRACY- JANET LUONGO
Janet Luongo, David Vita, and leaders of UUtheVote and TUCWomen/BLM. Special guest artist, Darcy Hicks
|
|
Artist and activist Janet Luongo inspires us to create bold new ways to save our sacred democracy; to jolt a sleepy electorate into action through powerful and startling images, humor, messages, memes, music; stories, videos, and rallies. During the service, in small diverse groups we discuss and vote on issues that TUCW will focus on in the 2022 Midterm Election. Special guest Darcy Hicks involves us in creating art for Wings-4-Peace, a project of David Hogg to move our culture from violence to peace. After the service, together we write to reclaim the vote for people of color in Florida - please join our postcard party!

"THE ART OF SLOW" - REV. TERRI PAHUCKI
settled minister of the UU Congregation, Stamford
|

What mysteries await when we slow down to pay attention to the world around us? The season invites savoring and delight, a time to welcome and invite the unknown to speak. Terri earned her Master of Divinity from Drew Theological School and Hartford Seminary, and was ordained at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Northern Westchester (her internship congregation) in Fall 2021.

CONGREGATIONAL TALKING CIRCLES - AUGUST 13th & 20th

In addition, we are planning to facilitate a ZOOM talking circle on Saturday, August 20th from 9:30-11:00 AM. If you would like to attend this session, please send an email to Jim Francek confirming your request for the ZOOM link.

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR!
COLLEGE PREPARATIONS HAVE BEGUN!
|
|
-- a note from our Safe Congregations Committee
For some of us, we are sending our children off to college, for others, we have friends and extended family members going through this major milestone, and so we are supporting them from a relative distance. For any folks concerned, this can be a challenging time.
Please know there are resources to help. Click HERE, for example, to read up on how to prepare kids to thrive in college, as shared by the Child Mind Institute. And on July 8, 2022 The New York Times recently posted an excellent article, too: click HERE for it.
And as always, The HUB is a great resource for behavioral health support: go ahead and bookmark or sign up to be on their email list. https://www.thehubct.org.
Questions? Please feel free to contact our Safer Congregations team, led by Wendy Levy.
